Welcome to the Guam Chapter

Buenas yan Håfa ådai!

The Guam Chapter was established in 1995 to support the number of U.S. Naval Academy alumni who have retired or left Active Duty having made Guam their home or are passing through while on Active Duty whether for three or more years or just 30 days.  On average, there are over 50 USNA alumni residing on the island Territory of Guam, “Where America’s Day Begins.”

Guam is the largest island in Micronesia. It is fifteen hundred miles southeast of Tokyo, six thousand miles west of San Francisco and at least eight thousand miles from Annapolis.  It has an area of 212 square miles, with the distance from west to east varying from 3 miles to 11 miles and from north to south approximately 32 miles.

A high limestone plateau forms the northern portion of the island while the southern areas is of volcanic origin, with a mountainous terrain of red clay hills, waterfalls, rivers, and streams.

The Department of Defense under the leadership of Joint Region Marianas oversees Naval Base Guam to the central western portion of the island, Andersen Air Base to the north and the future Marine Corps Base Guam to be located to the northern western portion of the island.
